Whilst awards such as the CertAVP, and other post-graduate certificates relating to clinical CPD, are well established and understood, no equivalent exists with respect to recognising competence in veterinary-specific non-clinical CPD.
ANCVA has created its own award known as ‘CertNCS’ to address this issue.
CertNCS stands for ‘Certificate in Non-Clinical Skills’. Various CertNCS awards are available across a range of roles within veterinary practice. Each CertNCS has been designed to help participants contribute to a range of non-clinical outcomes that are integral to successful veterinary practice. These non-clinical outcomes include mental health, morale and wellbeing, client satisfaction and commercial success.
An ANCVA CertNCS is not a post-graduate certificate. Post-graduate certificates are equivalent to 600 hours of study. An ANCVA CertNCS equates to 100 hours of study.
ANCVA Registered CPD providers can submit any courses to ANCVA for accreditation in order to covert their non-clinical CPD course to a CertNCS.
